چکیده

Vehicular AdHoc Networks or VANETs are emerging as a promising technology for providing safety and comfort applications for vehicular transportation. VANETs are receiving growing attention from the research community and from the transportation industry because of their great potential to improve traffic safety on roads. In existing system the IEEE 802.11 broadcasting mode, considers no request-to-send/clearto-send (RTS/CTS) handshaking process, because all of the nodes are within the range of a sending node and that node will be act as the recipients. Thus, the size of the potential hidden node activity‟s area is dramatically larger than the 802.11 unicast mode, which makes the communications more unreliable. In this work, the main objective is to show the hidden terminal problem, packet leakage and multi message broadcasting and the delay time has been reduced. To reduce the delay and overcome the single message broadcasting problem in the existing system, the probabilistic data structure is proposed. To address the degree of compatibility of the protocol Dedicate Short Range Communication (DSRC) method is used. The network operation mode is introduced for Dedicate Short Range Communication standardization. Thus the result of this work is to reduce the low priority messages and also determine the good tradeoff between network parameters. Keywords—DSRC,RTS/CTS.

Periodic Safety Message Broadcasting in VANETs Using Recursive Algorithm

Faster and more reliable connection establishment is the primary purpose of periodic safety broadcasting in VANETs. For this purpose we propose a sublayer in the application layer to increase the reliability of safety applications. Our proposed method uses several rebroadcasting schemes safety messages, which considerably improves the overall reliability. It also handles the synchronized collis...

Performance and Reliability of DSRC Vehicular Safety Communication: A Formal Analysis

IEEEand ASTM-adopted dedicated short range communications (DSRC) standard toward 802.11p is a key enabling technology for the next generation of vehicular safety communication. Broadcasting of safety messages is one of the fundamental services in DSRC. There have been numerous publications addressing design and analysis of such broadcast ad hoc system based on the simulations. For the first tim...

California Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways

We propose a Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol design for a vehicle to send safety messages to other vehicles. We develop a QoS model for safety messages consistent with the active safety systems literature. Each message has a range and useful lifetime. The QoS target is to have each message be received with high probability within its specified lifetime by each vehicle within its specified ...

Adaptive Communication Scheme for Cooperative Active Safety System

We present an adaptive communication scheme for Cooperative Active Safety System (CASS). CASS uses information communicated from neighboring vehicles via wireless communication in order to actively evaluate driving situations and provide warnings or other forms of assistance to drivers. In CASS, we assume that vehicles are equipped with a GPS receiver, a Dedicated Short Range Communications (DS...
